• Influences may have been taken from Hayao Miyazaki's work (particularly Princess Mononoke 1997), the real world Zhou dynasty of China and the myth of Prometheus.
• Wan originally crossdressed in Beginnings Part One. Often trickster characters are shown to have gender fluidity.
• In Japan, the word "Wan" is used to represent the barking of a dog. It is also the noise I make when I see a picture of Wan.
